How Lottery Courier Services Work
A lottery courier is an intermediary that arranges the purchase of a lottery ticket rather than operating the underlying lottery draw.
The basic model
A typical courier flow is: you choose a draw and numbers, the courier or its representative purchases the ticket from an authorised retailer, the service records the ticket against your account, and a scan may be provided.
The physical ticket matters
For paper-ticket lotteries, the underlying ticket can be central to prize entitlement. That is why storage, custody and large-prize procedures are important parts of a courier's terms.
Small and large prizes
Services often distinguish between smaller prizes that can be credited to an account and large prizes that may require identity checks or direct claim procedures. Never assume one provider's process applies to another.
Courier does not mean lottery operator
A courier does not become Powerball, Mega Millions or EuroMillions. The underlying lottery's rules still govern the draw and can impose conditions on ticket sales, agency purchases or prize claims.
